Low Brass Update

Dear Parents

The Clark Band is using Remind101 along with our website, twitter, and facebook for announcements and reminders. Please take the time to signup. This does not require any social media account. Go here for instructions.

Spring Break is soon approaching. This time is a great time to make sure instruments are cleaned and in proper working order. If there are issues that might need a repair shop (Music 1st or Music & Arts), have the instrument taken in at the beginning of the break to ensure that you will have it back in time for the return to school.

This is an exciting time in beginning band. We will soon begin the process of getting ready to play our first full band concert and travel to Sandy Lake for our first band contest. Please be sure to check your calendar for the upcoming events in April.

We are learning new melodies each week to reinforce a new technique, a new rhythm, or a new concept. If your child is having trouble finding things to practice, ask them to demonstrate their newest song.

General Announcements

  • It is normal to go longer than 30 minutes in a practice session because there is so much to practice. However, just practicing 30 minutes in a session is still acceptable.
  • Spring Break would be a great time to have your childs instrument taken to a repair shop for maintenance. If none is needed, it is certainly a good idea to give it a bath and re-apply slide-o-mix, tuning slide grease, and valve oil.
