Low Brass Update, week 4

General Announcements

  • History of the Instrument Project is in the final week. The projects or due on Monday, September 29.
  • We highly encourage you to enroll your student in lessons before space runs out. Many students develop much faster under the guidance of a specialist who is a professional on that instrument.
  • Instruments go home every day for practice. Practice time is now expected to be 30 minutes.
  • Each student received a practice card. Practice cards are due every Monday. Please sign the practice card Sunday evening.

  • Our first fundraiser turn-in is this coming Wednesday, September 24th. There are 3 more turn-in dates.


What we did this week….

  • We started our Daily Drills this week.
  • Adding note names to our valve/slide series (our first 8 notes)
  • We are working on moving high to low (fast to slow) pitches.
  • Assigned lines 1-10 in our Book.
  • We are counting rhythms on pg 42.
  • Started to articulate quarters notes (trying the Darth Vader theme)

What we will do next week…

  • Learn to articulate with quarter notes
  • We will take our first official playing test on one of our assigned lines.
  • Assign lines 12-17 (Hot Cross Buns)
