Low Brass Update, week 5

General Announcements

  • History of the Instrument Project is due on Monday, September 29.
  • We highly encourage you to enroll your student in lessons before space runs out. Many students develop much faster under the guidance of a specialist who is a professional on that instrument.
  • Instruments go home every day for practice. Practice time is now expected to be 30 minutes.
  • Each student received a practice card. Practice cards are due every Monday. Please sign the practice card Sunday evening.

  • Our next fundraiser turn-in is this coming Wednesday, October 1st.


What we did this week….

  • Daily Drills every day.
  • Adding 3 lower notes on our slurs
  • We are working on moving high to low (fast to slow) pitches.
  • Practiced articulation on quarter notes on lines 2,4,6,8 &10.
  • We are counting rhythms on pg 42. Eighth notes were our new rhythm.
  • Added #17- Hot Cross Buns

What we will do next week…

  • Continue to practice smooth articulation on quarter notes.
  • Playing test on #10.
  • Have a lesson on greasing our tuning slides.
