Beginner Clarinet, Flute and Saxophone — Week 3
- We will have a quiz on the names of the parts of the instrument (see your binder for the answers)
- We are working on putting our instrument together — This should be done with great care as the instruments are very delicate. Use cork grease often except for Flutes.
- We are learning our note names and recognizing symbols — use Musicracer.com to practice. It counts as 5 minutes of practice time.
- Handbook form was due by Friday, August 31st. We are missing only a few students.
- Practice Card is due on Monday, September 14th.
- Students are expected to practice on both their mouthpiece/headjoint and full instruments for only 15 minutes at a time.
- Private Lessons are strongly encouraged. Sign-up now before all of the available time are filled!
- Please let me know if you are still having trouble getting supplies.
- The History of the Instrument Project is due on Monday, September 21st. Click here for details.
- Our first pep-rally is on Monday, September 21st. Students are expected to wear their band t-shirt for the day! They should have received their shirt today in class. Take care to turn it inside out and wash in cold or the colors could fade and the shirt shrink.
