We have a busy few weeks ahead of us. The students have new music that we will learn in only a handful of rehearsals. Our focus is still the All-Region Material. Students have been instructed to use only 5 minutes per night on our new music. This music should not pose a challenge to the kids. Instead, the purpose of this program is to learn how to make the parts work together. So our study time together in class is focused on band techniques and rehearsal methods.
Please make note of the following dates:

Assignments
- All students should work on their all All-Region Music very slowly. Check your student’s material for each week’s assignment.
- Students should be very busy on their instrument playing slowly measure by measure. Students are expected to work on their Lyrical and Technical Exercises slowly. You should hear the same measures repeated many times. This is the best technique to lead to content mastery.
- New music. Honor Roll March, Mythos, Drive, and Serengeti Dreams. This music should only make up 5 minutes of practice time. All-Region and scales are still the primary focus.
- Brass students are expected to have BERPS for class everyday. See Mr. Kennedy or Mr. Timpani if you need assistance.
- Woodwind students are expected to have four reeds with no chips, cracks or lipstick.
