Percussion Week 15

6th Grade

  • ***Pass-offs for marimba and snare drum have officially begun! Students must play: -all 12 tetrachords at 80 beats per minute (2 beats of rest in between each one), -Graduation Test: Rudimental Etude (80 beats per minute), and -Graduation Test: Coordination Etude (90 beats per minute)
    • Students have the option to complete their pass-off during class (extra credit), or to submit a video of the assignment complete with metronome. Videos may be emailed to me, or uploaded to the class drop box that I have shared with you.
    • If your student isn’t happy with a pass-off grade, they may redo the video assignment for a higher grade as many times as they want until the deadline. I will take the highest score out of all of their attempts. Students must complete pass-offs, they are not optional.
    • Deadline for current pass-off: Friday, December 18th – Midnight
    • Many of the students have already completed their pass-offs early for extra credit and won’t have to worry about uploading a video.
    • Please email me if you have any questions
  • Students should be practicing rudiments, exercises, tetrachords, and major scales along with reading songs from the book. Remember, train your brain AND your muscles.
