Executive Board Meeting
Meeting called to order at 6:03pm

The minutes were read and no changes were noted.
Treasurer’s Report
Cathy Ripkowski presented the financial report showing the checking account currently has a balance of $10,176.22. Cathy stated we had collected quite a few band fees. Cathy asked if there were any questions regarding the financial report and none were noted.
VP of Volunteers
Janet has quite a few upcoming events to share with us. Monday, April 19th is Multicultural Night. The Jazz Band will be performing at this event. The students will need to be in full band attire and no volunteers are needed for this event.
Tuesday, April 20th and Thursday, April 22nd are Beginner Band rehearsals to get prepared for Sandy Lake. These rehearsals will run from 4:15-5:30pm. The band boosters do not need to provide drinks or snacks for this event and no volunteers are needed for this either.
Tuesday, May 4th is the Beginner Band Sandy Lake Contest. This is an all day event. We have approximately 120 kids attending. We will need around 12 volunteers and need some of the volunteers to ride the bus as well. Volunteers will need to report at 8:00am and the band will not get back until around 3:30pm.
Thursday, May 6th is the Beginner Band Concert at 6:30pm. The Symphonic Band will also perform that night as a surprise at the end of the concert. Mr. Katz stated we will need 4 volunteers to help with the Beginner Band and 2 volunteers to help with Symphonic. The volunteers will get to see the concert; they are just going to help make sure the kids are in proper band attire.
Saturday, May 8th is the Springfest Contest at the Murcheson. The Concert Band students will need to arrive at the band hall by 11:15am. They will rehearse until 12:15pm and leave at 12:30pm. They will then travel to Denton on the school buses and warm-up at 1:30pm and perform afterwards. The students will need to bring $10.00 for dinner at Golden Corral at 4:45pm. They will return to Clark at 6:30pm. We will need 4 parent volunteers to accompany the Concert Band. The Honor Band students will need to arrive at the band hall by 11:15am. They will rehearse until 12:15pm and leave at 12:30pm. They will then travel to Denton on the school buses and warm-up at 2:20pm and perform afterwards. The students need to bring $10.00 for dinner at Golden Corral at 4:45pm. They will return to Clark at 6:30pm. We will need 4 parent volunteers to accompany the Honor Band. The Symphonic Band students will need to arrive at the band hall at 12:45pm. They will rehearse until 1:45pm and leave at 2:00pm. They will then travel to Denton on the school buses and warm-up at 3:10pm and perform afterwards. The students will need to bring $10.00 for dinner at Golden Corral at 4:45pm. The will return to Clark at 6:30pm. We will need 4 parent volunteers to accompany the Symphonic Band. Students in all three bands may bring an optional sack lunch and all will need to be in complete band attire. This is the Cougar Band Polo, black dress pants, black dress socks, black dress shoes, and a black dress belt.
Saturday, May 15th is Solo and Ensemble. Clark Middle School is hosting this event. There will be approximately 700 kids attending this event. There will be students coming from Roach, Wester, Clark, Scoggins, and Fowler Middle School. We will need lots of volunteers for this event. As of now, we are projecting needing approximately 36 volunteers. We will have two shifts. One will be from 8:30am-11:30am and one from 12:00pm-4:15pm. We will need room monitors, cafeteria monitors, volunteers at the welcome table, concession volunteers and several volunteers working the awards, and several to be runners and help with hospitality. We will utilize 10 or 11 classrooms and will need volunteers for set-up and tear down. We will need 4 to 8 people to help set-up Friday evening around 5:00pm and another 4 to 8 people for tear down on Saturday. Sue mentioned possibly utilizing some high school students who need service hours for volunteers. Mr. Katz said we could possibly use those students for set-up and tear down. We will discuss this even further at our next meeting.
Director’s Notes
It was discussed when to have our next board meeting. We all need to meet before Solo and Ensemble. It was decided we would meet Wednesday, May 12th at 6:00pm in the band hall.
