Band Booster Minutes – August 10, 2011

Board Members Present:

Bob Geiger, Suzzette Williams, Michele Ellis, Janet Hilton, Megan Fey, Diane Mansfield, Jessica Powell, Becky Morse, Kristi Taylor, Jack Kennedy, Ben Katz, John Timpani, and Brenna Johnson

Agenda:

Mr. Katz opened meeting at 6:45 P.M.

  1. Introduction of New Board Members
    1. Deb Fleming- exiting member (VP of Fundraising)
    2. Teresa Garcia – exiting members(VP of Fundraising)
    3. Dinner from Olive Garden
  2. Treasurer’s Report – Current balance of $5112.79.
    1. Fundraiser brought in $21, 045. 12.
    2. Now using QuickBooks to track expenses.
    3. Now with Wells Fargo Bank.
    4. Discussion about using PayPal to collect fees.
  3. 2011-2012 Band Budget
  4. 2011-2012 Band Calendar – Mr. Katz needs approval for various events including band-sponsored dance scheduled for Friday, September 9, 2011.
  5. 2011 Summer Camp – working well during second week of August to provide more family time in the week before school begins, August 15-19.
  6. Amazing Jake’s – August 11, 2011
    1. Sixteen volunteers needed – Michele has list of people.
    2. Cost is actually sixteen dollars per person.
  7. Fall Dance
    1. Proposed date for Friday, September 9, pending approval.
    2. Janet Hilton is handling decorations and goodies to be sold for dance including glow bracelets, shades, illuminated strips for hair, etc.
  8. First General Meeting – August 25, 2011
    1. 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. —7th/8th grade band parents
    2. 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. —6th grade band parents
    3. Board expected to attend to introduce themselves and their positions
  9. Football Games
    1. Kids eat at school before we leave.
    2. Question about when buses permitted to leave to get to games for not only athletic teams but bands as well.
  10.  Meeting adjourned at 8:20 P.M.  Next meeting scheduled for _August  31, 2011
