Executive Board Meeting Minutes
Clark Middle School
Meeting called to order at 6:00pm
Attendees: Jane Arradaza, Benjamin Katz, Allison Kullenberg, Sylvie Marquet, Cathy Ripkowski, Lynn Schluns, Daniel Taylor, Renee Taylor, Sue Zempke
Treasurers Report
Cathy R. presented updated treasurers report (see attached). Taxes were due 10/15/08, we have gotten an extension to 11/15/08.
VP of Fundraising Report
Renee T. presented information on pen fundraiser as follows:
- Donations: $2,869.24
- Pen Sample Payments: $ 261.00
- Pen Sales: $12,558.00
- Online Sales: $1,488.00
- 45% Profit: $9,786.44
Mr. Katz would like suggestions of a new fundraiser to run next year. Would like to coordinate with the PTA so as not to coincide with their fundraiser.
OLD BUSINESS
VP of Volunteers Report
- 11/6/08 (Thursday) Phase I All –Region Auditions: parent chaperones need to arrive 4-4:15pm., both buses will be leaving at the same time. Lynn S. volunteered to pick up pizza (16) on the way, will be there around 5:30-6pm.
- 11/08/08 (Saturday) City Parade – Jazz Band to play, 10:30am at 4th & Main, need 4 SUV’s return around 12:15
- 11/15/08 (Saturday) Phase II All-Region Auditions: 8am-4pm, # of chaperones needed will depend on results of Phase I (1 chaperone per 10 kids). Possibly do goodie bags.
NEW BUSINESS
VP of Volunteers Report
- 11/12/08 (Wednesday) Jazz Band Clinic – Kris Berg from CCCC to facilitate.
- 11/18/08 (Tuesday) Jazz Band Concert – students 6:30pm, concert 7:00pm.
- 11/19/08 (Wednesday) Beg. Band Pictures – TBD
- 12/9/08 (Tuesday) Fall Clinic – snacks at 4pm, clinic runs 4-6:30pm.
Symphonic Elementary Tour – Friday 12/5/08 meet @ Smith at 7:30, perform 8:15-9:00am, need 3-4 parents. Thursday 12/11/08 – meet at Shawnee Trail @ 8:15am, bus will take kids to Christie, will return around 10:30am, need 3-4 parents. From noon – 1:30 will be at CHS, need 1 parent.
12/16/08 (Tuesday) Winter Concert – students at 6:30, concert at 7:00pm. Mr. Katz is working on combining CMS concert with CHS concert (may start 30 minutes earlier). Lynn S. will add instruments to Winter Concert program.
Beginning Band Elementary Tour – Tuesday 12/16/08 will play at Shawnee Trail 2:00-2:50pm. Wednesday, 12/17/08 will play at Christie 2:00-2:50pm, Thursday 12/18/08 will play at Smith Elementary 9:30-10:15am.
Winter Party – need to find someone to chair party, need additional donations as prizes, will involve the Band Council, further discussion tabled until December meeting
