Welcome to the award winning Clark Cougar Band!
We are very excited that you have chosen to play in the Clark Beginning Band next year! We have over 350 students enrolled in the band for the fall, including over 150 students of the 6th grade class. That’s over 50% of the incoming class making us the largest activity on campus. This is a wonderful time for your child to make friends and enjoy learning an instrument.
At Clarkband.org, under Beginning Band, we have several pages of information including a supply list, recommended vendors, private lessons, FAQs. We have vetted dozens of brands of instruments and in our personal opinion; we highly recommend the instruments listed in the flyer. We have tested all of these brands and find them to be of excellent quality and durability. They should give your child a fantastic start and help them to have a positive 6th grade band experience. If you are concerned about renting a new instrument, used is certainly a viable option. Please seriously consider these brands when looking on-line or locally. Please let us know if you are having trouble getting an instrument or supplies. If you have concerns about finances, please speak to us. We can help!
We are having a very important meeting on Thursday, August 28th in the Clark cafeteria, at 6:00pm. Topics will include private lessons, practice time, concerts, bringing instruments to and from school, and volunteering for the Fall Dance! We will have parent representatives from our Band Booster board to provide their perspective on the Clark Band experience.
Your child will need to bring their instrument and supplies on the first day of school. We will have designated areas to store their equipment and instrument.
Band Fees for Beginners:
Please do not let finances be a deterrent. We can help. We try to inform you of every cost, up front, so that there will be no surprises. However, the following listed amounts do not include Hurricane Harbor
Please make all checks or money orders out to the “Clark Band.” We now offer an on-line payment option at Clarkband.org. There is a 3% on-line processing fee. (No Cash please)
