Great First Week

Hey Honor Band & Parents,

We had a great week this week. The Honor Band worked well at establishing rehearsal procedures and etiquette. Below is a list of announcements and assignments for which to prepare for next week:

Announcements

  • Dance on Friday from 6pm to 7:30pm
  • All-Region Sectional next Saturday – this is required.
  • Student Handbook forms are due to 8th period teachers by Tuesday
  • Band Handbook forms were due this Friday, Aug. 29
  • No School Monday!
  • First practice card is due on Tuesday
  • Sectionals begin next week
  • Brass players are expected to have B.E.R.P.s next week in rehearsal!
  • Students should be very busy practicing – lots of music to learn.

What to Practice for Next Week

  • Fight Song, Hey Song, Louie Louie
  • Scales: Concert Ab, Eb, Bb, & F
  • Slur #1
  • Playing tests on Happy
  • First 4 measures of All-Region Lyrical and Technical material
