Announcements

• First Concert this Thursday October 23 at 6 pm. Students meet at 5:30pm in the band hall.  The concert begins at 6:00pm.  Students are expected to wear their band t-shirt and nice pants or shorts.  No jeans, please.  Please bring your recording device.  You will have a front row seat to view your child.

• The fundraiser has ended. Please turn in your order forms and sample coupon books. Thank you for all of your help with this process.
• Practice cards at due at the beginning of each week.  Thank you for helping your child remember this.

Assignments

• Trumpets – Lines 1 – 25, focus on 18 and 23 and the line or melody of their choice They should be oiling their valves every day, please ask them if they have done this.
• French Horns – Lines 1 – 31, focus on 23 and 38 and the line or melody of their choice.  They should be oiling their rotors every other day, please ask them if they have done this.
• Oboe and Bassoon – Lines 1 – 25, focus on 18 and 23 and the line or melody of their choice.   They should be swabbing their instruments after each time that they play,  please ask them if they have done this.  They also need to always have at least 3 good reeds and switch them out each day.

Please have your child perform for you!  Watch for their foot tap and whether they are taking a nice relaxed breath.
