We are T-minus 5 rehearsals until UIL (also known as the band STAAR test) and your students are doing amazing! I am constantly blown away by their hard work and the desire to achieve a superior rating. Please read about our Pre-UIL concert next week and the schedule for the evening. This is an extremely important event and is required of all students. Click here for more information.
Please read the following about our UIL contest on March 2nd. This will also be sent home in the form of a letter.
Our UIL contest has been scheduled for Monday, March 2nd at Independence High School. Our warm up time is at 8:25 AM and we officially perform at 8:50 AM. Parents are more than welcome to attend the concert, as well as the sight reading performance shortly thereafter. We would love to have you there supporting us as we have been preparing for this event all year. We will be taking a bus to the contest and back to Clark. Students must arrive at Clark by 7:00 AM.
Students, it is very important that we look our absolute best for this event. Please have your uniform clean and ironed before the day of the contest. You must wear your entire uniform with you to school that day, including your band polo, black dress pants, black dress socks, black dress shoes and a black dress belt.
We are going to Strikz for lunch! Please send your student with $12.00 for the buffet. For ease of collection, please send your child with a $10 bill and two $1 bills.
Thank you for taking the necessary steps to make this event a success. The students have been working very hard on their music to prepare for this contest. We will be missing part of school so students will be responsible for making up any missed work from the morning classes. Please be aware that we will be returning to the school by 11:15 AM.
Please bring a change of clothes for the rest of the day after the contest.
