We wanted to remind you that an important election is taking place in FISD.
Frisco ISD voters are being asked to make a decision on a Tax Ratification Election, which would raise the tax rate to provide additional revenue to offset lost state funding and to allow the District to address the issues of rising class sizes, competitive pay for teachers and meeting the needs of growth.
Early voting begins Wednesday, August 10, and ends Tuesday, August 23. Election Day is Saturday, August 27.
Please take the time to read this informational brochure, which includes details about where and when you can vote. Voting will take place at FISD high schools and the Administration Building (next to Lebanon Trail High School, so LTHS is not a polling location). Remember that registered FISD voters must vote in the county where they reside.
We urge you to take the time to be informed and to vote. School funding is a complicated issue and there is a great deal of confusion regarding this topic. The school district has provided resources on the website, including frequently asked questions and comparison data. If you see information in the community or on social media that you question, please look at the FISD website for answers or follow the District on Facebook and twitter.
