6th Grade Percussionists
- We had our first playing and written test this week and the students were well prepared! I will be handing back graded tests on Monday for us to review
- Remember the History of the Instrument Project is due on September 21st!
- Our first pep rally is on Monday, September 21st. Students are expected to wear their band shirt for the day. They should have received their shirt today in class. Take care to turn it inside out and wash in cold water or the colors could fade.
- Practice card #3 is due on Monday with a parent signature
- Today we learned the 3 Steps to Reading Music and began reading real notes!
- We are learning to read note names and recognize symbols – use Musicracer.com to practice. It counts as 5 minutes of practice time.
- Handbook was due by Friday, August 31st. We are missing only a few students
- Private lessons are strongly encouraged. Sign up now before all available slots are filled!
- Please let me know if you are still having trouble getting supplies (including marimba)
7th and 8th Grade Percussionists
- We are meeting at Smith Elementary School on Tuesday, September 15th at 7AM to play for DOT-day! Students should bring their band binder and wear their band t-shirt to Smith. We will play from 7am-8am.
- We are meeting after school on Monday, September 14th to take equipment to Smith for our performance.
- Great job on region music and exercises! Your hard work is showing.
