- All-Region Auditions: November 12th and 14th. Check with your student for their assigned day and time.
- Pictures orders can be placed online from the 121 Media Website.
Assignments
- All students should work on their all All-Region Music very slowly. Check your student’s material for each week’s assignment.
- Students should be very busy on their instrument playing slowly measure by measure. Students are expected to work on their Lyrical and Technical Exercises slowly. You should hear the same measures repeated many times. This is the best technique to lead to content mastery.
- Each student has a sight-reading packet. Students should be practicing the sight-reading process each night on 1 to 2 exercises from this packet. The process: 30 seconds of silent study–finger the notes and rhythms; Test tone; Perform without stopping. After the process, practice the exercise to find as many corrections as possible. No sight-reading is ever perfect. Mistakes will happen. They must learn to perform through the mistakes.
- African Bell Carol and How the Grinch Stole Christmas should only be 5-10 minutes of practice time.
