Announcements

• Practice cards are due on Monday, September 8th
• Sectionals started this past week. Check the schedule for days and times.
• Handbook form were due by Friday, August 29th
• We have sectionals on Saturday, September 6th — Students are expected to attend unless I know about a conflict

Assignments

• Students are expected to have complete comprehension of the following pieces of music:
  1. Louie, Louie
  2. Happy
  3. Fight Song
  4. Hey Song
• Practice sessions should include long tones, slurs, and 4 major scales and the chromatic scale.
• All students are to work on individual measures of Stand Shorties, Problem and their All-Region Music.  Students are expected to work on their Lyrical and Technical Exercises slowly.  You should here the same measures repeated many times.  This is the best technique to lead to content mastery.
• Reed students are expected to have four reeds with no chips, cracks or lipstick
• Students should be very busy on their instrument.  We have a pep-rally on September 15th and a concert in October.
• Private Lessons are strongly encouraged.  Sign-up now before all of the available time are filled!
