The kids did great at our clinic this week. Mrs Lansford, a hall of fame band director, had many good things to say about the band as well as plenty of tips to go from good to great! Since we are doing well and things are getting very busy, the kids have earned an end to sectionals. No more sectionals! EXCEPT…..the only section to still have sectionals will be the percussion since they are working on other performance music besides UIL.
A Note About Sectionals
Percussion are still on Wednesday mornings until Dr. Parks and Mr. Contreras schedule the last sectional.
Homework:
- Practice cards are due on Monday, March 20th
- Students should be practicing very slowly on ONE measure at a time. UIL music pass offs begin next week.

- Wear band uniform: Band Polo, black dress pants, black dress shoes, black socks and black belt
- Meet at 5:40 at Clark – go to our designated area with your instrument (not the band hall)

- Performance at 6:25
- Sight-Read at 6:45 – in the Library – parents are invited to watch
- UIL – April 4 – Wakeland High School – Parents are welcome to attend
- Bring band uniform to school
- Meet 8th period
- Depart at 3pm

- Perform at 4:20
- Sight-Read at 4:45
- NJHS will NOT miss your induction. Mrs. Duffey, Mrs. Binegar, and myself have worked out the details for you that we will share later.

- Please be aware that the district has asked that all volunteers sign-up for this new Volunteer Tracker at Clark. You must do this or you will not be able to assist us with school events.
