Low Brass Update

Dear Parents

Most students have reached or are close to reaching the end of their level one scales. Some have already started their level twos. We will start practicing level two as a class this next week. As your child to demonstrate the difference between the two.

We are learning new melodies each week to reinforce a new technique, a new rhythm, or a new concept. If your child is having trouble finding things to practice, ask them to demonstrate their newest song.

General Announcements

  • It is normal to go longer than 30 minutes in a practice session because there is so much to practice. However, just practicing 30 minutes in a session is still acceptable.
  • Spring Break would be a great time to have your childs instrument taken to a repair shop for maintenance. If none is needed, it is certainly a good idea to give it a bath and re-apply slide-o-mix, tuning slide grease, and valve oil.
