Low Brass week 5

The students made a lot of progress this week, but there’s not much more to announce this week.  I have enjoyed reading through and looking at all of the projects.  The students did a fantastic job and I have seen many creative ideas! Some classes learned their first melody while everyone is working to figure out how to articulate quarter notes. All classes even took their first playing test on line #6. You should be hearing lots of sound and practice as we are adding more to our skills and development each week. Please make note of the following:

Announcements

  • As our skills develop and expand, expectations to practice are getting longer, your child should be practicing 20-25 a day now.  Requirements for practice cards will be the full amount found at the bottom of the practice card beginning the week of October 4th.  (2.5 hours for 90, 3 hours for 100, etc.)
  • Practice Card is due on Monday, September 28th
  • Check out cool apps for Android and iPhones here!
  • Practice note names on musicracer or musictheory.net  This can still count as five minutes of practice.
  • Students need to download the play-along tracks for their book lines from either  myeelibrary or from the CD that came with some of their books.  The access code for the online library is found at the bottom of the title page of the book.
