Percussion Week 28

6th Graders

Important Upcoming Dates:

Percussion Concert  Saturday May 7th @ Centennial HS (Release the beginners)

All students must attend two rehearsals on Tuesday, May 3rd and Thursday, May 5th from 3:30 – 5:00pm.  Attendance is mandatory.  These are our only practices that we will have for our concert and contest.  Failure to attend may result in a failing grade and removal from the program.

• Students are expected to be able to perform Imperium and Construction Zone with 90% proficiency in order to qualify for the Sandy Lake Band Contest on Friday, May 13th.

• Students must pass all of their classes on MP5 in order to participate in the Sandy Lake Band Contest.  This is a state rule.

Hopefully everyone received an email about DRUM CLUB ON MONDAYS AT LIBERTY!!

We have meetings for each age group:

6^th grade 4:30-5:30

7^th grade 5:30-6:30

8th-11th  grade 6:30-7:30

Our remaining meetings are on the following days/dates:

Monday April 11

Monday April 18

Tuesday April 26

Thursday April 28 Concert (Concert dress is whatever your home campus requires you to wear)

We meet in the LHS percussion room, which is located on the southeast corner of the building, right next to the marquee sign at the main entrance of the campus (see attached picture).

7th and 8th Graders

• Solo & Ensemble Contest @ Hunt MS – Saturday, April 30^th
• Peak Music Festival @ UNT – Saturday, May 7^th

  • Concert Band — 8:30am warm-up/ 9:00am performance

  • Honor Band — 9:00am warm-up/ 9:30am performance

  • Symphonic Band — 9:30am warm-up/ 10:00am performance

    We are going to PinStack after we finish at the Murchison.  This portion of the day is optional.

    All eligible students are expected to attend.  Please let us know if you have a conflict

• Spring Concert – May 26^th.
