Parents
I feel that the current weather situation matches the practicing enthusiasm of students. Periods of hot and periods of cold. Amidst all of the scales and the new rhythms your child is learning, I hope that they can find inspiration to push through and focus on their goal of becoming a strong, young musician. I would encourage you to pull up a YouTube video or attend a live concert to give them a taste of what they could sound like. We thankfully live in an area that has many venues to listen to live instrumental music – whether it be the Meyerson symphony hall or the local universities. I am thankful my parents made the effort to inspire me by taking me to the Houston Symphony growing up, when they played the theme from Superman, I was hooked!
