This has been a great week after Spring Break and the students really came back energized to play! We are preparing for the Sandy Lake band contest next month and also for their first full band concert in May.
Dates to remember
- After school practice is coming! Tuesday, April 18th and Thursday, April 20th from 3:35 – 5:00pm.
- Students are required to attend both practices.
- Failure to do so, may result in a failing grade and possible removal from the program
- These are our only two practices for the year
- Sandy Lake Beginner Band Contest – April 21st – during the school day
- Save the date!!!!!!!! Tuesday, May 30th from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. John Philip Sousa Sudler Cup Awards Concert at Stonebriar Community Church
Assignments
- Imperium — Students must be able to play at least 70% of this material correctly to attend Sandy Lake Band Contest
- Construction Zone — Students must be able to play at least 70% of this material correctly to attend Sandy Lake Band Contest
- Scales: F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, C, G, D. Students should be finishing level 1 and must have at least 4 level two scales completed by the end of the grading period
- Eligibility: Students must be eligible (check MP4) with at least a 70% in all classes in order to attend Sandy Lake on Friday, April 21st.
- Practice: Students should be practicing each day for 20 – 30 minutes at a time.
