Parents
We have officially started the scale olympics! This is the only time of the year that students are in friendly competition with each other. You should be hearing your child practicing their scales (think Do-Re-Mi from Sound of Music). Please encourage them to play them for you to put a little extra pressure on them so they get the same feeling that they will feel when they play them off in class.
On a side note, this is the time of year that some students lose a little bit of that drive to practice. The instrument isn’t as shiny anymore…the requirements might be a little tougher…Mary Had a Little Lamb just isn’t as cool as it used to be…. Please help me encourage them in their musical pursuit. I love seeing students grow in their musical desire and to help them through their struggles. The only way to get through struggles, as we all know, is hard work and dedication. I’ll keep encouraging from my end and thanks for all that you do!
